Golf Tourney Benefits Jerome Fire Department

Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The City of Jerome Fire Department is trying to build a firefighting training tower.

Once established the department hopes to have a state testing center.

But in order to make all this happen, you have to have some money.

On Saturday they held their second annual Firefighters' Fire in the Hole Golf Tournament.

The mixed four person tourney was held at Canyon Springs Golf Course in Twin Falls.

Currently, the location for testing makes it strenuous on departments' budgets.

Mike Harrison, Jerome Fire says, "right now we have to go to Idaho Falls, Boise area to test. With strained testing budgets, if we have one in Jerome, it's going to help all of our departments. We're hoping to include all of the area departments."

Harrison says they appreciate donations, whether it's money, steel, lumber or welding equipment.

You can call Mike at 731?5527.
