The music industry has changed considerably throughout its lifetime. Originating with types of music like rock ?n roll, the blues, jazz and all sorts of other music genres, it is now evolved into a pop-culture with country, rap and all sorts of other talented music artists. After the Internet came about, the music industry really began to grow as music?s availability became more prominent. Suddenly, music was available on just about every computer in the world and it was only a few mouse clicks away. This made it possible for people to buy and sell music from their computers, in the convenience of their own home. The Internet was truly a revolutionary invention and it has flipped many industries completely inside out and changed the way that business is done.
The Internet has also introduced a variety of online marketplaces for people to download their music quickly and easily. For instance, you may be aware of iTunes, an invention by the Apple company that allows you to directly download thousands of songs over the Internet. ITunes is packed with literally every music artist out there and it is extremely easy to use. Once you have downloaded the songs, they are playable in a variety of formats, including MP3.
Unfortunately, the Internet has also opened the door for a lot of online scams and illegal downloads and the music industry. Immediately after the Internet transpired, many people started to share music, movies and television shows on the Internet. This actually became quite popular and despite the risks of doing this illegal act, people all around the world began to engage in this type of illegal sharing. Basically, it started with one person purchasing a musical CD, creating a digital copy of it on their computer and then getting the bright idea to share it with others. This allowed other people to download music without having to pay for it, although it is illegal. The governments and police forces of many countries have tried to crack down on illegal online distributing. This type of illegal online sharing has definitely put the music industry in jeopardy. Music is always going to be extremely popular and it will continue to grow forever, but these types of fallbacks have hindered the success of many different artists.
There are so many different types of music that you can listen to in the world, music is a true representation of people?s cultures and beliefs. The type of music that you listen to definitely has an influence on your beliefs and what you do day-to-day. Many people that have strong moral ethics and our religious-based will choose to listen to Christian, Catholic or other types of religious music. Music allows people to express themselves and be passionate about things that they believe in. It?s also a great way to spread the word about good causes and accomplish revolutionary things in the world that could not have been done without the support of music.
